Playing with and figuring out some more ideas and techniques for how to make 'rough-painted' animations. And showing some ED-E love =)

As a break from my recent Flash animation thing I'm doing - I needed to do something speedy and more rough. I've been wanting to play more with animating with Photoshop's video layers. There is so much muckin' around to be done with them. Check those out too =)

You could say this run cycle is... shitty. =D Poopy Knight FTW! This is just one piece of a little project I'm wanting to put together of this guy sometime. I made this using a combo of Flash/Photoshop video layers. =)

Having a crack at branching out and learning flash. This is the baby-step project for me to help me out for a more complex one. The animation side of things is kind of a happy place for me - but I am new to the coding side - so this thing ain't perfect but I tried! =)

Far to go - but I did figure out some IK stuff in Unity and got this guy runnin'. Like a... like a bomb...ostrich.

So I attended a Masterclass with Valve/Weta artist Laura Dubuk - already a favourite artist of mine...lucky me, it was awesome. It was mostly about one of my favourite topics- Level Design! =)

Rough concepts everyone! Rough concepts =)
So if you don't catch the head - It'll jump back into it's body and it will come straight back atchya. Longarm's head and shoulders rotate quickly, his body can move pretty well, but his arms are slow. You'd be thankful for that...
Now, alternatively, if you do kill the head - Longarm will get up on it's own and be pissed right off and stupid reckless. But of course - blind. This is dangerous but also exploitable. Outsmart the fatso.
EXPLOSIONS in motion - Longarm's head
So I have a video game world idea (EXPLOSIONS) that I use as a vehicle for thinking about game design and visual design. For a while now, I've wanted to illustrate some scenes and aspects of the game, but then display them as little animations. So here we are - for practice, fun and hopefully some viewing pleasure.
I will add more and more tidbits of the world, building up this thing I call Explosions =)
This is the head of our most common enemy, Longarm. It acts as a zippy little scout for the slow, lumbering Longarm robot - and once it knows where you are, it will quickly return to its body... unless you catch and stomp it into the dirt. BUT. Doing that won't make the big bot too happy...
Spaceman Spiff X King Sepiad
Bout to get messy here! I've wanted to mash up Ratchet and Clank with Spaceman Spiff for a long time now. It's just so...right!
Do yourself a favor and the next time you see a RaC game, imagine it is being narrated by Spiff like he does. ;) For me, the best one for that was A Crack in Time because of its mini planets - perfect for some ... Spiffing...
R.Y.N.O V
Up there with Mr. Zurkon, Ratchet and Clank's RYNO V has got to be my favourite weapon from any game. If you don't know - along with everything explosive or deadly, it also blasts the Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture at full volume! Brilliant...BRILLIANT :)

I love Mr Zurkon, he has to be one of my favourite things from the Ratchet and Clank series...that and the RYNO V.... :)
